July 1 – 3 The Folsom Pro Rodeo For 60 years, The Folsom Pro Rodeo has celebrated July 4th with a bang. Step into another world and enjoy non-stop rodeo action, mutton busting, a high American flag which arrives by skydiver, fantastic nightly fireworks and much more! The popular event sells out quickly, so get your tickets now. 1 st Saturday: July 2 and August 6 Historic Folsom Art Hop If you are a lover of art, you won’t want to miss the Historic Folsom Art Hop . Folsom is home to a vibrant community of artists, and this is event is your chance to meet local artists and view their original works of art. Art will be displayed in galleries merchant locations and outside along historic Sutter Street. THURSDAY, JULY 7 Twilight Concert Series – Folsom Historic District To get a high-energy boost of unique, spicy music, come on out to see Red Dirt Ruckus . This entertaining band is, described as having a” toe-tapping, hip shakin’ sound. with a healthy dose of bluegrass, a sprinkle of reggae and a big-ole spoonful of funk.” The Twilight Concert Series , held right in the charming Historic District every Thursday through August 25. Come out for a relaxing summer evening where you can listen to music from a wide variety of talented regional bands. Make sure to bring your beach chairs and a picnic. Or, if you prefer, pick up some food from one of the terrific restaurants along Sutter Street to eat while you watch the bands play. The concerts take place from 7:00-10:00 p.m. at The Folsom Amphitheater . friday, July 8 Rocklin Quarry Amphitheater Every weekend, the Rocklin Quarry Amphitheater has new bands to entertain the locals and out of town visitors. No matter what your jam is, you’ll find something to suit your tastes. On Friday, July 8, the Spin Doctors with The Jeff Watson Band will be rocking for the crowd. July 9 – July 17 Disney’s Newsies at Folsom’s Harris Center If you prefer to stay indoors where it’s cool and comfy, a musical or theatrical presentation at Folsom’s Harris Center may be just the thing. Thursday, July 14 Art Demonstration - Folsom For artists and anyone who wants to learn more about Folsom’s art community, the Folsom Arts Association holds a monthly Artist Demonstration. This month, they will be featuring the work of Dale Laitinen, water colorist at Gallery at 48 Natoma . Friday, July 16 Sacramento’s Great American Triathlon Calling all runners and fitness buffs. Registrations are now open for the Great American Triathlon , Northern California’s most popular summer triathlon tradition of Running, Cycling, and Paddling on the American River Parkway.
